Social Justice

Social Justice @ SCC
Students across the College participate in a variety of Social justice activities. Social justice activities help to increase students’ awareness about issues in our world, and provide opportunities for both advocacy and aid. Social justice activities help students to develop the understanding that everyone deserves to enjoy the same rights at the same time developing their skills to become responsible 21st century citizens.

Christian Service
As students move into their secondary years of school they are afforded numerous opportunities to engage in Christian Service activities. Christian Service forms part of the curriculum at the College. Christian Service is an educational activity that provides opportunities for students to integrate Catholic Social Teaching in a practical way into the educational program. Christian Service is designed to enable students to grow, from a Christian perspective as people of service. It provides formation that emphasises that life as a Christian is a life of service and justice. By engaging in Christian Service students grow in their awareness and understanding of the dignity of each person, and the importance of respecting all of creation in order to develop and promote justice.
